ms3 or ms4
The MS4 has seemed to be a Risky Cam (IMO). I have seen a few cars (4) out here in Colorado Struggle Strongly with the Camshaft. Having poor dyno numbers and terriable track times for the size of the cam. I think there is vaccum issues on the engines, from what the customers have told me and they regret going with the MS4.
While I have seen multiple people (6). Have great results and track times with the MS3.
If I was you, I WOULD CALL TEXAS SPEED. And, talk with them about your goals and what you are looking for.
To each there own on the MS4, Not a FAN!
I am starting my 4th Engine build on my own personal engines and will be doing a Heads and Cam Package from Texas Speed on my WS6 and will be using the MS3 in this build. The risk isnt always worth the reward.
My Brothers MS3 Build was back in the day, and he had a LS6 Intake MS3 Cam Stock 853 Heads Ported and Polished and put down 426 hp and ran a N/A 12.4 up here in Colorado @5,800 Feet. That is crazy N/A F body up here in Colorado. On a 100 Shot it would be a low stock bottom end car running 11's. Which is in the 10's @sea level. Flipping Sweet!
When he switched over ot the Fast 90/90 back then he went 440 hp. Dam good N/A Build. One Fast Car!

My understanding was that the bigger the engine is the bigger the cam could be and the power would be moved down in the powerband. So a 228 cam in a 383 would make good lower power but run out of steam real quick while a MS4 in a 383 would be like having a mid 230 cam.
Anyways the MS3 isnt a small cam, it is 236/ 238 duration I believe. That is actually a pretty big camshaft. Lift doesnt tell you how big the cam is.

my car runs nasty strong. Beats/hangs with pullied/ported cobra's all day. The videos are on you tube.
Lots of guys like the MS3 because it has less lift, but side beside on the engine dyno the MS4 camshaft simply outperforms the MS3 at just about every rpm point.

Jason-
Why would the MS4 Perform better in a stroker engine than a 346 engine. Just cause there is more displacement? What was the intenions with the MS4 Cam when you guys were first creating it? Stroker Cam, High Compression? What setup does the MS4 Best perform in, like 346 H/C/I/, 383 high compression H/C/I/? Just curious what the ideal setup would be for a MS4 Cam, so I understand the Cam better.
