Default Can i hit 400rwhp?

So ive been swaping my heads for a pair of ls6 heads and ive decided i want to put a cam in now ive been fighting it cause i daily drive my car and i wanted to wait till i had a 12 bolt and built tranny put **** it if it aint broke dont fix it (yet lol) So i was thinikng about geting a 228r cam from tsp along with all other parts i need timing chain, ls7 lifters, push rods, and oil pump. I will also be geting a yank 3600 converter. My qeustion is do you think my car could make 400 to the tire (02 ws6 LT, lid, p&p throttle body, gmmg catback) and run low 12s, possibly high 11s with more work done to the suspension and tires of course. Or would a different cam be better? I dont want a very choppy idlie and i want good street manners i have heard the 228r is a great dd cam. Any inputs would be great thanks.

yeah you should be over 400rwhp, depending on what rear-end gear your running i dont see why you wouldnt hit you're goal of low 12 high 11 car. i dont think i saw you mention an intake manifold you might want to look into doing one of these first, i currently have the prc 5.3 heads with the ms3 cam from texas speed and you can feel my car choke up top from lack of breathing.

ls6 should be fine unless your worried about 10whp for 700.00(not including tb) that the fast 90 adds.

You should have no problem reaching your goals.

My car made 400rwhp and 375rwtq and has run a best of 11.66 @ 116 full weight on 17in. M/T drag radials.

yeah dont get caught up in hp numbers... my buddy with the same heads and a 231/237 cam only put down 390rwhp but runs 11.50s all day. but yeah a mild h/c set up will get you low 12s high 11s

Don't forget the new TSP 228 camshaft that we just released, checkout my latest 228 camshaft thread, it shows dyno testing of the two camshafts side by side!!
