Need some advice on an ls6 based 402 motor....
Hey guys, lookin for some advice... I'm looking at doing a:
ls2 block
tsp 402 rotating assembly
custom cam
ported 243's
ls6 intake (for starters, eventually step it up to a fast 90/90)
about a 150 shot of n2o
and of course all the goodies such as injectors, fuel pump etc. etc.
now my question is... what size dish pistons should I go with? Or should I use flat tops? and is anyone running a similar setup? if so, what are the goods? the bads? any recommendations would be much appreciated. keep in mind, i'm not on much of a budget, but i don't want to go all nuts droppin cash.

I would got with a wiseco -8cc dished pistons. That way you can run a cmaller CC head for a high comp ratio for NA and spray. And if you ever want to go boosted, just swap heads and wham! There ya go. Best of both worlds

Try to find pistons with 2>2.5 cc valve reliefs, that gives plenty PTV clearance for good size cam without milling the heads too much, keeping compresion in the 11>11.4:1 ratio.
I'm partial to Wiseco pistons for price and quality

Okay cool, thanks for the info. I was thinking of just ordering a rotating assembly from a sponsor, but I could probably piece one together for less...

And some sponsors sell bearings and rod bolts with the assembly for less then 2000.
