Default Cam Recommendation For 427 street car?

Some of you may have seen my previous post about my cam with the deep gouges in it. I'm guessing I need a new one. This does open a possiblity for going with a different cam now. Goals for the car are: street, street, street. Never will see the track. In a 3800lb c5 the motor got 21mpg on the freeway. I'd like to keep it that way. It dyno'd 530rwhp and idled perfect at 800rpm. It did this with 1-3/4" headers (at 1-7/8" now), and with a fast 90/90 setup (with TSP Ported Fast 95/95 setup now), and with smaller exhaust (4" merge and 4" mufflex catback to magnaflow muffler now). Motor will be about 10.9:1 compression with my .060 head gaskets. If I should stay with what was in there, great. I'm open to other suggestions as well. Here is the build:

Engine:

Block completely resleeved and machined by Steve Demirjian @ Race Engine Development using a complete Darton MID sleeve setup (Does more darton sleeves than anyone in the country, THE premier place for all Darton LS sleeves). Cost about $3000 alone to get the bare block ready.
http://www.raceenginedevelopment.com...4927/index.htm

Shortblock:

Block is 4.125" Bore
4.0" Eagle Forged Crankshaft
6.125" Lunati Pro-Mod H-beam Rods
JE Custom Forged Pistons (flat top /w valve reliefs)
Billet Steel Main Caps / ARP Main Studs
Ported LS6 Oil Pump
HexaJust Roller Cloyes Timing Chain
Comp OE Replacement Hyd Roller Lifters
Custom 238/246 camshaft, (pretty mild since it was a daily driverable setup)

Top End:

Total Engine Airflow fully ported 237cc AFR Cylinder Heads
Stainless valves, double extreme springs, approx 70cc
ARP Head Studs
Chromemoly Pushrods
Yella Terra Ultralite 1.7 Roller Rockers
42lb green top injectors

Intake:

Ported through TSP Fast 95mm Intake Manifold/95mm Throttle Body
Fast Toys Performance 104mm lid
Fast Toys Ram Air

Exhaust:

TSP 1-7/8" Ceramic Coated Headers
TSP Catted Y-Pipe
Flowmaster 4" merge
Mufflex 4" Catback with Magnaflow Muffler

isn`t it better if you wrote what the old cam specs and things you didn`t like about it?
+ it`s 21.95 to 25 $ by paypal for a cam specific to your engine from Pat G or vengance racing

Little off-topic, but how the heck did you get a C5 to weigh 3800 lbs?

That's ~600lbs more than stock!

Baderx: Read my post. It explains why I need a new one, and what the cam specs were. I haven't run it yet, and I don't know what I wouldn't like about it, it just provides me with a blank slate now that it has revealed some major gouges to me.

The C5 wasn't my car. I bought the motor and it ran in that car for 3500 miles. Guess there's no feedback other than pay somebody else to spec it for you....

P.S. I already PM'd PatrickG. I would like to get some other input from members here possibly with experience in this application.

aha sorry didn`t see the cam specs ^_^ my bad

that`s pretty mild about what I`m using and I it was speced for street use and a mild chop and roll racing for a 418ci and ported 317 heads and on a 114 lsa ^_^

I`d say look for ls7 cams specs already dynoed and pic something around the ET or power they acheived since you have the same cubes and great heads too

but if that`s pretty mild to you I think something in the upper 24x lower 25x intake lower 25x upper 25x exhaust range but ithose engines that sometimes we see here are high compression high and using octane fuel

an engine like that really needs a custom spec for your goals because not many guys have these heads on 427 and that compression I can`t help you but the ZO6 thing might help but with less exhause split than their cams

Predator-Z might help ^_^

lots of writing and no help by me :/ nice set up by the way

Mine has a 239/247 on LSL lobes. I have Cartek 5X heads and I bet with your AFR 237 heads you can use more intake lobe than I can. PatrickG set me up with mine, just go with what he recommends.
