What are the best bang for the buck valve spring
Well was racing this weekend and the car started acting wierd. I pulled the valve covor off and the back valve spring on the pass side was broke. havent pulled the driver side off yet. It has patriot heads with patriot springs and a cam in sig. Money wise probally going to just change the broke one. Unless I can find a good set for a good deal. What would you guys recomend?

i would definately say best bang for buck are the comp beehive 918's i had them in my LT4 before the car got totalled and they were awesome, after putting them in the car felt so smooth and they also fit into an LSx aswell, not just for older GenII or GenI motors

Comp 918's have had lots of issues and is the last spring I would use .... Do a quick search... Plus running a cam at that lift I prefer a little more safety margin of a .650 lift spring. Springs are one of the last things you should cut corners on.....So how many miles on your springs....if one broke you may wanna do a set... they usually don't break unless setup improperly.... PP or TSP golds or plats are ok and TSP has a new spring out that is supposed to be great but it is to early for results..
I personally will go back to a beehive PAC 1518 for my next change. A little pricey but worth it IMO....

My car has 55000 miles on it the setup was installed at 28000 miles. So a little over 25000 miles on the springs. I am going to just fix the one for now due to funds but looking for a set in the close near future. Just looking for a good quility spring with a good price.

The mileage is why they broke. You should at least check the spring pressure on your springs every 10k miles or so. Since you already have the retainers, bases, locks, etc... I would just buy another set of patriot performance valve springs. They sell just the springs by themselves. I would definetly not just change one and drive with it like that for an extended amount of time. You may also want to pull the head that had the spring break and make sure the valve didn't get bent or the seat damaged.

You should not run different springs (mix them). As BVR stated, if one broke that usualy means others on the way. I would seriously consider replacing the whole set with same springs since seats and retainers are already there. also look at replacing valve seals since you are in there. Yours are 2000 so easy to just replace them all with exhaust seals from GM.
