you shouldn't need gears or crank pulley. there is a cam install guide on ls1howto.com.

FYI... I've put down multiple numbers with the same setups using the X1. The first dyno was a Dynojet and had a LMII setup with ORY and made 387/359 SAE locked, and 395 STD.

On another Dynojet in town I put down 375 locked with a Vig 3600 with the Borla XR-1 muffler off of the ORY. Soon after I added a Fast 90/90 combo, new injectors, built 4L65e and made 377 locked on the same dyno a year or so later with an open y-pipe. Torque did rise with the Borla muffler. Made 478 unlocked with 150 shot cam only with the XR-1 installed. I never got the chance to do an overlay of the graphs to see if the Fast made more/less power in different areas than the measly peak gains.

The car sounds great, but is sick with the ypipe open. If I could do it over again I would have not bought a reverse split and would have went with a custom grind that I could grow into. Track times will tell...

It is just different range of power. Where reverse shine is trq, 3000rpm>end (depending on specs).
They will only get better with proper heads and mods. Look at this graph:
C5, M6, 230/228 110LSA, 59cc 243 Cartek 4x, unported 90/90.
Before heads/intake then after.
Look at the trq by 3500 rpm (400lbs)

no doubt dude, the X1 sounds very good. has a nice lope thats not too overwhelming. i am more than happy with my X1. its perfect for what i want. im not out to set records or anything, just a fun little street car. this car drives very, and i mean very civil. its not a headache, or anything. after driving my X1 i think i could step up to a bit more cam and more stall. but like i said, my car is never gonna see the track or try and set records.
