Definitly have to clearance the block for the connecting rods. Probably notch the bottom of the cylinder bore.

Contact Pilcher Racing in Enterprise, AL. They are top notch. That is who machined and assembled mine. You might need to clearance the oil pan in the front because the rod bolt will probably scrape unless the bolts have small heads. Mine needed some massaging to turn freely.

The iron block is different, but not by much and I think the cylinder is actually shorter than the sleeves on the AL blocks. If there is any additional clearancing needed just leave it to the machine shop.

I have been to both tracks. I think that Powerhouse (Breakaway or whatever it is called now) is nicer since the whole first 60 foot is now concrete and the rest of the 1/8 is asphalt laid only a year or two ago. The access road is now paved instead of dirt also. Dothan Dragway has not been repaved, you still must drive into the water if you have street tires, and the access road is still gravel. When my wife gets out of nurshing school and into a job this coming summer she plans to get a new car/van and I will daily drive the Grand Prix. Then I can afford to take the 'bird back to the track and if I break it again no big deal. If I break something right now I may end up with a .38 slug in my head since we don't have another car and the new motor this last year nearly bankrupted us.

My bro drags at both of them I haven't been to dothan in awhile the only thing about breakaway is the bump in the track the pro mods hate it.I know the feeling if mine knew how much i was going to spend on my motor she would kill me.
