Default sliding in the lifter dowels? condensor is giving me trouble

hello, im trying to slide in the lifter dowels i have made, the rod length is 22" excluding the handle. is this too long? the condensor is in the way right now. should i cut the rods just a bit? i want to lift up the condensor but then i would be lifting it way too much since the holes in the block are above the camshaft

The cam itself is around 21" so you may have an issue that needs to be fixed before going further unless the handles you refer to lengthen the rods. Are they just bend 90 degrees?

thanks for the reply, the straight rod itself is 22" and i made a 90 degree bend at the end which is 3" long so should i cut them 1 inch or 2 inches? how else do other people put in the rods? the total rod length before the bend is 24"

You need to lift the condensor up out of the way to get the cam out anyway, so move it.

I don't see the problem here once the condensor has been moved. You will be moments away from removing the cam.

Good idea. You could tie it up if your on your own, but the easiest way is to have someone hold it.
