Installing Head Studs While Heads Are On The Car
I am going to be pulling my heads in a few weeks to have some add'l work done to them. I have a set of studs that I want to install this time around.
Is it possible to pull one bolt at a time and install the studs so that I don't have to go through all of the trouble of cleaning the coolant out of the holes in the block? This may appear to be time consuming, but it took me a loooong time to get all of the coolant out last time.
Thanks,
Scott

But you can do it. Cleaning the bolt holes didn't take me that long, I just stuffed some paper towels down there and left it overnight. Next morning I pulled it out and put some more paper towel and they came out dry. Took me maybe a total of 20 minutes to shove paper towel in there?
<strong> can you remove the heads with the motor in the car and with studs in place <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes, plenty of room.
