Default Trying to better understand Solid Rollers

I was just wondering what is the difference between a solid roller and a hydralic roller in physical comparison not so much power output. Also do solid rollers use a different kind of cam than say a hydralic roller setup? I know that generally you can run a higher lift and duration on a solid roller but are the cams different?

The ramp area and flank area of a solid roller is more aggressive then a hyd. roller. The can cores are also made from billet 8620 material. There are now a few new type of core material being used. You can run solid roller lifters on a hyd. cam but you can not run hyd. roller lifters on a solid profile.
