Default Head bolts?

Got some new mods coming to my car soon and I'll be changing the heads. I know Im going to run the factory mls head gasket but is it worth it to go ahead and get the arp bolts? I don't plan to ever have the heads off again (on this motor) and it is going to be exposed to a little nitrous. I know the stockers are stretch bolts and one timers only whereas the arps can be used multiple times so should I just get the head change kit with the stockers or upgrade?
Some have mentioned studs I dont know right now?

Stock is fine, there are 10's of thousands of LSx based engines spraying nitrous and even being blown on with stock TTY bolts.

Go ahead and get the arp bolts... If you do ever have to take the heads off again they will pay for themselves. Eventhough you don't intend on taking them off again, something may happen.

Stock bolt kit, $22.95 per head. $45.90 per pair plus shipping, so say $50 per head removal.

ARP head bolt kit. $142.95. Stud kit is $169.95.

All prices from http://sdparts.com

Unless you have a dedicated race car its hard to justify the cost difference. 3 head pulls to recover the cost.

There are a lot of LS3/LS7 etc that make tons of power on stock TTY head bolts. 600-700 rwhp spraying a 200 shot, seems like they work.

If not planning on doing anything crazy, stay with the stocks and use that $$$ For some more power mods

Ive been asking around more, I think I'll roll with the stockers. I would rather put that extra money to a trunion upgrade one of those needles will hurt it worse!

Not to hijack this thread, but what is the difference of the 12 pt and 6 pt studs? I noticed the 6 pt studs are $50 cheaper than the 12 pts. What's the advantages/disadvantages of the 12 pt and 6 pt?

The only time they round off is if you are using the wrong tool ie a 12pt socket on a 6 point head, or are not square on it. I would go with whatever is cheaper on that one(but you guys know that).

Sounds good, I was thinking the cheaper route like you Bill, haha. I'll just be extra careful in the process. It's like a NC reunion in here too!
