Default Stock install heights of the 02 ZO6 heads

Using the stock hollow stem valves that come with the heads what is the stock install height?

Do you mean spring install height ? That should be interesting, could explain how LS1s get away with 02 LS6 springs and heavy valves.

Those hollow LS6 valves are about .025" longer than the stock LS1 valve.

I believe the spring install height is still 1.80" just like on the LS1. A longer valve wont change spring install height.

Why would it not change unless the lock groove is at the same distance from the head surface and it's probably not. The retainer is the same as LS1. The seats may be a tad thicker though but far away from .025.

pekkaz made a good point, but as far as spring instal height, I still believe it is the same on both engines.

could it be that the ls6 valve is just longer after the lock grooves?

Smile '02 LS6 stock spring installed height

stock hollow stem valves... what is the stock install height?
Hi,
Both the LS1 & LS6 2002 engines list an installed height of 1.800" in the GM manual. My 2002 LS6 heads measured out to ~1.780" with all stock parts.
Steve
