Gasket Matching/Porting My 241's
ok before i start let me just say in my line of work the next two months are going to be dead and with the holidays i dont have the money to get my heads sent out to get done.
hopefully first of the year ill be doing a cam, intake, exhaust and other bolt ons, so my car has 95K, and i have a set of lower mileage 241's in the garage im ganna throw on there and kick the 853's out
i figured hell why not just atleast clean these up, well while cleaning them up i put a set of used gaskets up to them, and man there was so much metal there to be removed, so cleaning them up turned into gasket matching them and here are the results
im still debating on doing bowl work but heres the intake side of the heads
this is this first one i did on the left, note thats not finished yet
this is still not fully finished but you can see how much better and bigger the top one looks compared to the untouched bottom one
here i just need to hit it with some sand paper again and it should be good to go
like i said by no means am i a pro, but i guess a dyno will tell if it did some good

well i hate to be the one to tell you that gasket matching is a terrible idea when it comes to porting anything. You want to make the intake port on the head match up to the intake port on the intake manifold.Matching to the gaskets is going to mean your head ports are probably larger then your manifold ports now, which you definitly dont want.

where you removed material at the plateau by the valve guide, i smoothed down alot more. i'm no pro at all, but i wanted to make that transition for the air as smooth as possible. you are going to gain most of your air flow at the top of the runner, so smoothing it out more there will be smooth shot of air right to the back of the valve.
your work looks pretty good, i think you're on the right path.
