Default ? about Rods and Pistons

i am building a budget LQ4 to go in my Trans Am. i have oversized cast Sealed Power pistons, and 7 of the 8 rods that came with them are ok. the last rod had a spun bearing and has alittle bit of damage on the outside edge.
i took the ONE piston and rod to a machine shop this afternoon to have the piston installed on a spare rod that i had and the guy at the shop told me that it wasn't worth it to swap rods and ALL of the rods would need to be bored for oversized bearings. he said that these style rods were bad for getting out of round.

is that true, or is it ok just to swap the rods?

Bore the rods for oversized bearings?

I'm new to these motors...... but I've never heard of boring the rods for oversize bearings.....Sounds like you need a new machinist!

If the rod isn't hurt too bad..... you can just get it resized... and new bolts.... and you should be fine........ if you decide to use a "spare" ..... just make sure it is the same exact rod.... at least I would want the same casting number rod as the rest of them....

My machinist told me that about my 3.8L Grand National motor..... just resize the rod if it isn't hurt too bad.

To be honest when your this far, with motor pulled torn apart exc. I would do it all right the first time and by new. With the econmony the way it is you can get new h beams or whatever for cheap. Its a huge hassle when that extra couple hunderd dollars you didnt spend on the motor, something fails. Then your spend triple the amount you didnt expect to spend.
