could blow in 40 miles, or last 40K miles

we've all seen cars with 1/2 that mileage blow up.

you'll just never know.

if you're worried, best thing to do is not go too drastic. don't put a cam that requires spinning 6800rpm.
there are other ways to make a car fast than just a cam.

my car has 74K miles...had a decent size cam in it for about 20K miles. all is well.

Don't worry about it, just put a new timing chain on when you do the cam swap 80K is nothing for these motors.

I would look at the VRX3, TSP 228, 228R or a 224/228 cam if I was you.

Make sure you upgrade valvesprings. Otherwise, there's no reason you can't cam that motor.

I would go with a 228r cam from one of the sponsors as well as upgrade timing chain, oil pump and valve spring kit, and injectors..goodluck!!!

I install my cam with 170k miles and now with 180k and planning h/c ms3 with 5.3 heads...I don't worry cuz I've been changing oil almost every month and putting z max and other engine treatment. Runs greats and strong but, I only plans this setup for a month only they changed to a 6.0 l...but every motor is different hopefully it will hold up!!!

was that english??

yeah my car doesn't have much for mileage...75K. but with 20K on the cam its holding up well.

i don't beat on it too much cause i can't afford a new rear end yet....

i drive hard...just not REAL hard. no drag stripes here and no place to race due to police. just spirited around town and highway runs.

i was just laughing at the Zmax....its snake oil. just keep up on the oil changes and use good name brand oil. you'll be fine. at least as fine as any of us can be.
