Question 382 cubic inch motor

I am thinking of building a 382 stroker, I know all the pros, but does anybody have any cons that I should watch for

A 382 stroker won't rev very high compared to an all-bore.
Will be a good torque motor.
Heard a few stories about the oil rings in the pin bore which can cause heavy oil consumption.Don't know for a fact though.

I rev mine to 6800 and could go higher. No oil consumption here either... I really don't feel there are any down sides besides cost but the whole bottom end is forged now. Get a good set of rods and you can rev it a bit.

Whats the longest practical rod length that wont give you oil ring problems (for N/A)?
