Talking 500+HP 383 setup

Me and my buddy are argueing if i can break 500 hp with my setup in my sig with a head swap to PRC stage 3 LS6 or Patriot Stage 3 LS6 heads and a Walbro pump, FAST fuel rail setup. At 1300ft elevation. I think it can be done. I appreciate any comments.

you're leaving out the most vital info....cam size.

383 with a small cam isn't gonna do it no matter what heads you use.

+1 a little info is needed on the cam. If that cam is in the 236 range and .600 ish lift you should be able to hit even being at 1300 ft elevation.

My cam is a 239/243 .623/.623 113+3 and you can see the numbers in my sig. Granted you have a few less cubes, I'd think if your cam is comprable you'd make 500ish to the wheel. Whats the compression ?

Comparing those two cylinder heads just because they're priced similar is not a good comparison. You'll definetly find the PRC heads are way underpriced for the quality & flow they provide. Checkout the PRC 227 heads also, they're not a lot more expensive, but they've proven to make over 500rwhp with ls2 applications. With a 383 it should be no problem at all!

I was thinking the fuel rail was gonna give me a restriction on fuel? I forgot to put my cam in my sig=232 235 640 598 112LSA. Thank you for all the comments, I was thinking about puting like a 50 shot of spray to start out on, I havent ever messed with nos.

that setup with that cam won't make the fuel rails a restriction.

Would you please explain the squeal that is apparent during the initial hit of the throttle and again during de-acceleration?

I'd have that intake ported too once you take the heads off for an easy 10-12 rwhp. Plus you may want to look into the Trickflow as cast heads as well. Also what power are you making now and what all was done to the current heads that you have on it?

I only put down 425 rwph 416 ft lb. Idk if that is what it could really put down, the dyno tune i got i think is shitty. The heads are stock heads with a stage one port job, milled with comp rocker arms, 7.400 pushrods, manley max .650 lift springs, LS7 lifters, stock valves, stock gasket, with the block being decked. Im looking for budget heads like patriot and prc, i was gonna reuse my springs, lifters, pushrods, and rockers, so i just need the valves and retainers. Trickflows is a little pricey...

I am fairly certain that is the noise caused by the rollers on the dyno against the tires. someone correct me if I am wrong.

the only thing i can think of is the break on the dyno... carmen from the vette dr's did the most recent work and dyno test/tun.e
