243s would be a good upgrade...specially for $150

spend $50 at a machine shop and have them milled for more compression. might look into a basic valve job too.

you could see some nice gains for cheap

this is the post from the guy is their anything i should look for i be going to be looking at the heads on weds

These heads came off a motor with less than 5000 miles on it. Heads are bare. Set up for 2.00/1.55 valves. 65 cc chambers (according to the internet, I haven't measured). D-shaped exhaust ports. Supposed to be identical to the 243 casting LS6 heads

Wait untill you get a cam to let those heads breathe more. Thats a awful lot of work for maybe 10rwhp

Make it easy on yourself and do it all the same time. Figure out what cam set-up your going with and find some heads or have your heads set-up to work well with the cam. Dont forget to drop some new lifters in when you pull the heads- cheap insurance!

you should be picking the heads that fit your budget(best you can afford) and having a cam ground to match the heads, not the other way around. the 799's with some nice valves, a GOOD vj, and some minor bowl work will be a nice budget head

Let me know if you are interested in getting the heads ported or if you need valves and springs, cam, lifters, whatever else you are thinking of getting.

Thanks,
