Default Help getting bolts off the back of heads

Im trying to find the easiest way to get the bolts off the back of each head. Im trying to be careful not to round the bolts off. And should I remove these bolts before completely unbolting the head? Or can I unbolt the head and move them a bit for easier access? Any help/tips are appreciated

is the car m6 or a4. if its a4 the 15mm on the back of the pass head needs to come out before you move the head. the other bolts are just grounds, you could probably pull the head forward alittle. i just used a ratching wrench with the intake off obviously

Yeah the auto dipstick is gonna need to come off before head removal preferably. I believe one onther on the passenger side is a harness loop. But there should be slack enough to move the head some.

I just removed them last weekend. I used a ratchet with a pivot head.

Its an m6, i tried getting a regular sized wrench back there and it was a no go. maybe Ill try to find a stubby 15mm gear wrench. I do have a ratchet with a pivoting head. Ill have to try that again, perhaps at another angle. Thanks for the advice so far!

I use a stubby 15mm gearwrench. There are 2 grounds on the driver side and 1 harness clip on the pass side which only needs to be opened for harness removal.

Stubby gear wrenches will be your savior on this one. You can squeeze a reg sized gear wrench back there too, if you need more leverage. Just be prepared for the bolt to break loose, and don't smash your knuckle against the edge of the head and split it open (your knuckle). This can cause a lot of cussing and tools going air born.
