F14 is a mid size cam. A set of gears and you have your low end back.

I just swapped out a hot cam for a F14, and I can tell already that theres a huge power difference between the two. The only advantage that I would give the hot cam is below 2500 rpm, everywhere else is night and day difference and I havent even gotten it retuned for the F14 yet so the difference should be even greater.

F14 all the way man, get a set of 4:11's or more and u will love it, You know how many of those big cam guys ive drug , lol , HAHAHA i cant believe your even thinking about that damn tsp 228r cam, like stated earlier, the F14 is a small to mid range cam compared to some of those Donky Dick cams out now, Just start out w. the cam and work on a rearend and gears, dont go with a smaller duration cam just cause u want that low end , gears will take care of that

a 228r cam would make more torque throughout the entire rpm band than a f14, and everybody knows torque is what wins races. but sense everyone on here has already talked u into an f14 have fun reving to 7k, nothing sounds as good as an ls screamin into the high rpms

No they dont. The question is, what is the point of making power and what do we consider power? The answer is simply the old Hp vs Torque motto.
Torque gets you going but HP keeps you there and moving. Gears do absolutly nothing for power but they do allow the engine to rev faster operate in its powerband effectivly and efficently. If you talk to a boat owner, racer, tech, whatever they will talk about the difference a prop will make and make no mention to increasing the power of the engine. Its the same concept for our cars but instead of concentrating on how to use our generated power to its maximum potential we overbuild to compensate for lack of knowledge and understanding.

Please understand that Im not trying to jack the thread of bash on your comment but rather help the community to understand the importanc of gearing and other non - hp derived factors.

I'm throwing the F14 and some 4.10's in. I'll be happy if it moves like your F14 car Sammy!

Wow kinda harsh there buddy. We're all here for suggestions not bashing and I mean there around a couple proven cars in this thread with f14s. And that is on the track not dyno numbers since they could mean a flip to me, Im happy with my car hell it might only make 340rwhp... but it moves

Find me someone with a 228r cam and ill drag their *** all up and down the street, i dont have to rev it to no damn 7k, but it does make power up to that, and if u ask me the F14 will **** all over a t2 cam which is basically the same specs, the F14 will and has proven to make more hp and tq than the t2 time and time again
