241 heads fit older sbc?
Im sorry for the stupid question, but I just swapped my heads for some 799's and my dad asked me if my stock 241's would fit his motor in his 87 chevy truck with a sbc 350 in it. The obvious answer to me is no, but I guess I couldnt honestly answer it with my own knowledge so thought I'd ask. And how much do low mileage assembled 241's usually go for? Looks to me like $100-$150?

actually.... the answer is yes! they will fit. theres a conversion kit out that allows the use of a sbc and ls heads.. its designed for the cheap aftermarket of sbc with the power ls heads can make, ill do a search for you and see if it comes up with anything...
edit: found it, world makes it, its a valley cover and the adapter for the valley cover, and head adapters.

is that what u were talking about? because that uses a custom block made by world too. the deck has to be custom because LS heads use only 4 head bolts around each cylinder. also head bolts go down into the block much farther then SBC.

Not sure there is a real wrong way, but I have always stored mine on end with bubble wrap in between the surfaced parts and just taped it on. I definitely would not store them valve face down. Put them off the beaten path where they wont get knocked over.
People will probably tell you different ways. Like dont lay them surface down, or if you store them standing on end the valves will bend from gravity...etc. I say if it is just for a season or 2 it shouldnt matter. Put them in a hall closet all wrapped up if you are worried about the garage not being suitable.
