Default Texas Speed 454 Sleeved LS7 On The Engine Dyno!

I wanted to take a minute to let everyone know that the TSP 454 LS7 is finally running on the engine dyno! Look for dyno data this evening!

It's has the following parts:

Race Engine Development/Darton-Sleeved LS7 Block
Wiseco 4.185" Pistons
Callies Compstar Rods
Callies Compstar 58X 4.125" Crankshaft
All-New PRC 285cc LS7 Heads
TSP 254/262 113+2 Camshaft
Harland Sharp 1.8:1 LS7 Roller Rocker Arms
GMPP LS "Chevrolet" Valve Covers Powder-Coated Black
Katech Coil Relocation Kit
Jeremy Formato Ported FAST LSXR 102mm LS7 Intake, Painted Black with Red Lettering
PTM 102mm Throttle Body

Look for dyno sheets and pictures very soon! This engine is not pre-sold, so if anyone needs a 454 LS7 ASAP we can get you setup!

Thanks!

Jason

We'll get you guys pics & dyno data the first part of next week. After changing the oil I realized I was out of oil filters! This delay kept us from getting as much time as I would have liked to on the dyno. So far the engine has made right at 700 flywheel horsepower. Hopefully after a few tweaks we'll put them to 725hp or so.

Why not just use an LS7 Block ?

Is there any savings to re-sleeving ?

Over using an LS7 Block

Or is it so current Accessories line up and don't have to be re-located

Bon

Stock LS7 sleeves are weak, especially when you bore them further. There have been many failures of the sleeves at high hp levels, even N/A. The sleeves split at the top.

Yep, the sleeves add more cid capability but also add much more sleeve strength. Stock LS7 sleeves are regular gray iron, the RED/Darton sleeves are ductile iron. It is not cheap the route we took: we used an LS7 block which was pretty pricey to begin with (when they are/were available), then added the sleeves. The dry sleeves can be installed in many other Gen IV blocks such as the LS2/LS3 though.

^ Judging by your other post this isn't something that is going to suite you too well.

I look forward to seeing the results out of this. Are there going to be any sort of A-->B comparisons that we can anticipate?

i already asked the ? about why its an ls7 454 and jason said in the other thread that they had an ls7 in the shop with a cracked sleeve laying around so with that being said that why its a 454. if it wasn't cracked then they would of pobably just did a 440.

does anyone know how much a sleeved ls7 454 shortblock is vs a 440? how much can you spray comfortably with the sleeved 454 that won't effect durability?

Im no expert but im in a guessing game mood (like watching pass time on speed but with a dyno) im guessing 717hp 630tq. Dont critize me if im way off, just would be awsome if im close.
