I have two choices for heads right now.

I currently have an 02+ LS6 cam, LS6 springs, and LS6 retainers. I have two options at this point and really want to make the best decision possible for what I have and what it will take to get these items installed. So my options are port my current 853 castings by a reputable porter who says he can get me 280/210 on my stockers for 450$ or get a set of 799/243 heads. The only issue I see with going with the 799/243 heads is the need for a different size pushrod. I will be reusing all the stock parts I can. I will be replacing gaskets with GM original parts. I'm not looking for every last HP I can get out of it. I just figured if I'm swapping this into a 1995... why not make it as close to LS6 power numbers as possible. So! I leave you with this question.

yup, also the 799/243 have better a more efficient chamber that is also smaller to bump compression roughly ~0.5. I would definitely go with the 243/799s. I got 25+ rwhp and no loss swapping on as cast out of the box 40K mile 799 truck heads.
