I had the g5x3 cam for couple years and liked it a lot. I currently run a custom cam spec'd for my setup from Vengeance Racing. I say why limit yourself to those two choices, just get a custom cam that matches your setup perfectly ?

Point is the custom cam was spec'd based on the totality of the parts involved. No need running a cam that has a lift in the .640's if your heads start lopping off air flow at .625 IMO its just added stress on the Springs.
Please don't read into this that the g6x3 isn't any good, its a great cam, just not ideal for me and my setup. I wish the guy I sold it to would post up. I am very happy with the cam I have now, satisfied all of my goals and then some.

Not disagreeing, but your setup is far different the the standard fare that most LS1 cams were designed for. A custom cam in your setup makes sense.
For him I wouldn't pay any extra for a Custom Cam when that custom cam will probably have similar valve events as the standard LS1 cams on the market. (designed around a full bolt on LS1/LS6 motor) All i'm saying...

Actually it is a common misconception that a custom runs more but in reality they cost the same. I got my custom on Comp lobes through TSP for $369 a while back....

The G5X3 has a lil more exhaust duration than the VRX5 and the VRX5 has a couple more degrees intake duration. The MS3 is damn close to the X3 also.
I had the G5X3 on a 112 LSA for awhile. Made the power in my sig with it and a set of ported 241's, and a fast 90. Sold it and going with a different motor setup now. But it was a good camshaft. The VRX5 is a lil cheaper new. You would probably be happy with either if you are looking for a " healthy cam"
