i am thinking about getting this cam for my 240sx ls1 with the stage2 ls6 heads. would i have to fly cut the pistons?
also, what about a custom set up? like the 236/240 .615/.609 114lsa or 236/238 .602/.605 114lsa. would i still have to fly cut? i know some people doing bigger cams then that and dd`n it. i hear alot or people around the low 23x duration are sying they ride like stock.... anyone know what cam complements the ls6 stage 2 nicely in the mid to peek power?

I'm running tis cam with Dart non ported heads and I didn't have to fly cut the pistons. I went from a Comp 224/224- 581/581, and wish I would've got the 233/239 first. I really like this cam with my setup.
What did ya gain from the swap? (dyno/track results)

I don't have any dyno or track numbers, 330 miles to a dyno, 220 to a track. I also put on the Dart pro LS1 heads at the same time as the cam. But I can punch it at 50 mph and leave black marks, even with Nitto dr's. I did get an accelorometer afterwards, and got an 11.8 so far, at 3500 ft elev, before with a stopwatch, best was around 13.4. I know thats not an accurate way to compare, but when you live in the middle of nowhere, yoy do what you can.

Default 233/239 Cam

I run the TSP 233/239 with TSP 5.3 Stage 2.5 heads on my street/strip 02
Z-28 with beefed up 4L60E and Moser 12 Bolt with 3.73's. It idles at 900 RPM and has very good street manners. Dynoed 417 RWHP at Speed, Inc. Uses Comp 7.4 hardened pushrods (stock length) Has run a best ET of 11.51 at 115 MPH and a best 60' of 1.57. I originally thought about the MS3 but backed off to the 233/239 and don't regret it. It's make a great poor man's race car. Drive it to the track, race it, and drive it home.

I have this cam in my car too, with TSP's 2.5.5 heads. Along with a few other bolt ons it dynoed 431.31 RWHP. No flycutting required on my setup.

On a 112 LSA, it sounds great and you better have the car pointed in the direction you want to go at 3,400 rpm because it hits pretty suddenly. It pulls strong all the way up to 7,200 - 7,400 rpm. Don't try to go cheap on the lifters or pushrods or you will eat them and the cam too.

Good luck with your build !

B

Here is what the cam sounds like on a 112 LSA. Cold Start and idle no rev.

You better set your bolt tightening routine now, lol; 'cause you're gonna shake them all loose. Sounds good...

113 or 114 LSA would idle smoother.

^^ I've watched your video so many times on Youtube. I actually commented on your vid a while back. After I ordered the cam, I probably watched this vid every day because I was so excited.

EPS has a cam that is 242/246 that fits without flycutting and also has one just slightly bigger that doesnt......
so you will be fine with your 239 exhaust
I went 234/242 and have no issues.
