.544/.545(lift) Cam. Use 1.8RR's to improve lift?
I just bought a car with a Lunati cam 234/236 .050 .544/.545 112 LSA
cam in it. The car does have:
Patriot gold .650 valve springs
titanium locks and retainers
Ported 241 heads 2.02 / 1.94 valves
Forged 346 Bottom end
I was thinking instead of swapping the cam out I would go for a 1.8 rocker to help the lift. I'm at the point now I may swap the cam for something bigger or keep what I have and see what I can do with it adding 1.8's. I'm very new to the LSx world and would like some thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I think the 1.7 rockers are more stable.. I would just stick with the stockers.. thats my opinion. I just dont think with that cam and heads you wont see many gains from the 1.8.. I could be wrong though

What do you know about those ported heads' flow
vs lift characteristics? Would more lift help at all?
Some curves I've seen for 241s seem to stall out
well below 0.6". Of course this comes down to the
port job, so you want to know particulars I think.

Put the SLP 1.85's if you can find them cheap. I had some on when I had a mild cam in my car. 216/224 .551/.551 115LSA It bumped the Lift up to .599/.599. I thought it helped. Ofcourse after the cam swap I got one with a high lift so the use of those rockers were no good. But to save you trouble from taking out the cam, Just put the rockers on. Those Patriot Gold springs should hold it.

Yes, it can be done. As noted, there are several other options, as well.

Its my opinion, that most aftermarket cams are designed to run with a stock ratio of 1:70 rocker arms. Few cam are designed to run 1.8 or either.
If you really don't know what the heads are, I'd find out! There is a world of difference from a crap set of heads vs. a performance head.
So my 2 cents is to stick with stock ratio rockers arm, and pick or order a custom cam to fit your goals.
Better yet, figure out your heads first. You might be happy with this cam, rocker set and with a different set of heads.
Let us know.
