Wheres best to buy Manton Pushrods???
I need to buy a different length pushrod for my new setup and alot of people recommend goin with the Mantons. Is ordering them direct from Manton the best place to buy them or do some of the sponsors on here also sell them?
Second question is what diameter is best to go with? is it bennificial to step up to a 11/32's pushrod? Thanks to anyone that posts!

yes it is best to call them direct. and it is always better if you can with a larger dia. push rod it will have less deflection, this help to keep you cams profile.

We use, sell and stock several Manton pushrods that we use a lot of but order most of them custom. I do see craploads of Push Rod misinformation it seems every time I get in here. Certain pushrods will not work with certain heads and you must measure for length if you have an odball deal or milled heads.
Terry or June or Robin or Noel at Manton are all great but they don't work on these LSx engines like we do. I have just sold 5 half-sets of new Manton pushrods this week that were all redos from shops selling too long or too big a diameter for the heads being used.
5/16s will fit basically everything and 11/32 diameter will fit damn near any LSx deal but 3/8ths and up they start to NOT fit a LOT of heads at least without some extra work and above that as in 7/16 and up you need to know a lot about the heads to modify them for clearance as some will break through in many areas or bind up.
Larger and stiffer pushrods are generally better but they do have to fit and they need to provide the proper preload as well so check and re-check and then re-check two more times! Also it sucks to have to wait but consider buying just ONE Manton in the size you think will work and then it if does you can order the rest but if not you aren't out much at all.

I bought mine through Tony Mamo. Had them in 5 days std. shipping. He could prolly get them to you quicker if need be.

Just a quick update on this thread...over 8 years old! Unfortunately Terry passed away in 2012. Please don't call Manton and ask to speak with him. Trevor helped me with all my questions and helped me out with how to measure so they would manufacture the correct length push rod for me. Robin took care of everything on the customer service billing side. It was a very very good experience, which is quite unusual to receive that kind of service these days. If I need push rods again I will go with Manton again!
