It would be sweet if Jason drove it down from Lubbock to Rivercity, ran some 9's, then drive back home. That would be a pretty good test.

Did someone say that Jason was going to break-in a engine?! LMFAO!!! that won't happen with him. He was trying to spray it when it was on the engine stand being assembled.

Its real close to starting, as soon as its running I'll post up a few sound clips. We may just drive it around with no exhaust to remember the old days.

Neil thats not a bad plan! Drive to the shootout & drive home... hmmmm That would be a good way to break in the new 20" HRE's

The crank has been ready to go for well over a month, but we've been waiting on the pistons I will keep everyone posted, and I'll do my best to break it!

Ryan - When do we start on one for you?

Formulation'98 - You're exactly right! It is possible to make the crankshaft stronger than stock if done right. Great minds definitely think alike because I am contemplating an off-set ground crankshaft with a 3.905" bore and solid-roller setup.

Neil - Yes, that would be a fantastic test! We hope to be out terrorizing the streets this evening in it. He has to show off the new 19"/20" HRE wheels.

Drew - We feel that it is going to be a great setup, but we want some real-world testing in one of our cars before we offer it to our customers. Let me know when you want to drop the hammer.

She's alive and well. The 396 fired right up Saturday night. We ran two heat cycles on it and then changed the oil. She has a great idle at 900 RPM. The HRE 547's make the car crazy! We went from drooling over the engine to drooling over the wheels. Jason took it for a spin, and he said it felt great. I will let him comment on it since he's the one that drove it!

We are finalizing some pricing on a turn-key package, so please sit tight. Ryan, I'll send you an e-mail today.

Trevor

Jason, comment on the motor, please.

Was the motor built with nitrous in mind? Or when you say it will see some nitrous use, are you refering to a 150 or smaller shot?

I'm interested in the power that you'll put down with that cam. My motor will be smaller by 3 ci. I'm starting with the same 232-236 cam that I last used in the stock block, and see how that goes. After that, I'm open to suggestions. Idle at 900 sounds good

Your motor would be a nice one for my truck.

Should be very interesting to see how much the new 6.0 aluminum blocks can be bored out to? Once they come out in the new Vette, they should be availble through parts.

Its currently 15 degrees outside so I haven't driven it any today The cam idles very nice @ 900 By a little nitrous use I mean my little jets will be 150 TNT

The goal of this motor was to offer customers a price friendly stroker option without the risk of dropping sleeves Alot of people still drive their car everyday, and dont want the worries from a resleeved block.

BTW, the wife says she still owes you for repoing her headers for her. Thanks

If i am not mistaken, i have heard from reputable sources, that the C6 will be released in the fall of 2004 as a 2005 model.

Tim - Yeah, y'all owe me BIG for regulating on the headers. Bear with us on the website; we're busting our humps to get it finished up.

Ryan is right that the blocks will all be aluminum soon. If you read Motor Trend's latest issue, you'll see a concept "SS" by Chevy with an aluminum-block 6.0L in it. The only thing we need to know is if we will have the interchangeability of parts between the current stuff and the new block. I've spoken with one guy within GM that said it isn't for certain that everything will transfer over. Hopefully GM will come through for us and allow it all to transfer over.

We're pricing the off-set ground stock crank engines out a few different ways, so we'll have pricing up very soon. Please be patient with us!

You don't need an iron block to get 396 cubic inches with the stock crank.
