Default PCM Trouble.

I posted this over in the PCM diagnostic section, but got no response. Maybe I'll get some here. Is there a way to check if the PCM is burned or not? I need to check the computer on my brothers '01 Z28 because I think water got into it and fried it, but I'm not really sure. The car was working and all, until just the other day when my brother tried to turn it on one morning and nothing happened. Everything is connected and we made sure that gas was going up, and it is. The engine turned over, but doesn't start. Can it be the crank, or cam sensor?

Default Any spark ?

Do you know if there is any spark to the plugs ?

If it's a cam sensor, it should still start after a longer then normal cranking period.

You could take a plug wire off a spark plug. Grab a spark plug and lay it on top of something aluminum or steel. Have someone try and crank it over and see if you get any spark. If not, be sure and check all your fuses. If there all good, your going to have to find a way to interface with it to see if your getting a cranking signal and other information while it's cranking.

The ECM's are pretty water tight so I doubt that's it, but anything can happen.

There are no codes. I plugged a scanner in, but I'm going to try my friends mac tool scanner and see if I can get something. I don't think there's any spark, but I'm going to check that tomorrow, I couldn't do that today because of the rain. I'm going to check for spark tomorrow and try some other things. I'll check these things out tomorrow and see what I can get.

Found the problem. It turned out to be an ignition switch problem. Thank God it wasn't the computer. That would've been an expensive fix since he would've had to get a replacement and get it tuned again
