Does this looks right?!?! (PIC)
I started torquing down my rocker arms and this spring got really compressed before I hit 22 ft/lbs. Is this right? I'm not sure if there is any gap between the coils or not... Cam is a TR224 on 114 with stock length pushrods. Thanks

Thanks a lot guys! I feel like a dumbass... It apprears that one or two threads were ripped out of the hole, but with some WD-40, an air compressor, and God on my side, I managed to get the bolt back in the securly torqued to specs. Oh and just out of curiosity, when I put in the rest of the rockers, why did most of them, or all for that matter compress the spring? I think all of them compressed the springs just the slightest bit, some more than others obviously, but if the valve was closed, should it be at the very top? Thanks

This put more pre-load on the lifters than the 0.050" max and so the only way the pressure could be releaved was for the valves to open. Some rockers will always be opening some valves which is why you "supposed" to set lash/torque on the base circle of the cam (but LS1s can fudge it with out "net lash"/non adjustable system).

your fine, more than likely your lifters are pumped up and once you start it up everything will adjust to where it needs to be, well should anyway. That's why the lifters have preloads etc..

Do you people remove and reinstall your rockers one at a time. I loosen all the bolts and lift all 8 off at once by holding the rail on each end. When it comes time to reinstall, just grab the rail and reinstall all 8 at once. You'll never leave the rail off that way.
