Default need some input on a set of heads

i found a set of heads forsale on craigslist for $50. Guy says they are completly stock pulled right off of his 98 ws6 and the car ran great when they were pulled off, they come with stock valve covers and oil fill neck. His ad says they are casting #806's and that he bought a set of aftermarket heads and just wants to get some money back.

i was thinking about buying these, getting them ported and what not and putting them on my 98 formula, just wondering if it would be worth it? i haven't researched to much on heads yet so any input would be greatly appriciated.

Now just remember before you do the 241's or any other head then the 806's your going to have to change some some like the coil backets and some other stuff because the 806 are premiter bolts and all the other heads are center bolt heads just keep that in mind so off the back your going to have to spend more money up front. Do a search on the 806's and maybe you can find out more. Hopefully someone will see this and give you all, if not more details about swapping them and what you need.

what is your budget and goals from the swap? 806's and 241's are nearly the same with a slight advantage to the 241. if the budget is there a set of 243's with some mild work would be the smarter move if staying with a stock casting. anything other than 806's are going to require new valve covers and coil brackets. as far as head work your budget will be the deciding factor in who you use. i do know that Greg Good has said he will work his magic on 806's in the past and he is well respected. for the 243's there are some very good choices out there but for the better guys there will be a wait. i believe TSP will run their port job for $650ish on your castings. again your budget and goals will decide which direction you end up going

thanks for the input guys! but after looking into it a little more i think i am going to wait on heads, they are going to cost a little more then i thought, so i'm probably just going to stick with getting a small shot of nitrous. Then next year it will be heads/cam and probably suspension
