I would say the tr230 would be better for the track. The C2 more friendly on the street.

Stock 3.42 gears? That tells me you're not really that serious about track times. In that case, I'd go with the C2.

I say go with the TR230 unless you have to pass emissions or like a smooth idle.

I just got the tr230 for Christmas and I can't wait to install it. I did alot of research with this cam and you definately nedd 4.10 gear and you probably won't pass a sniff test. I don't care about that. You will definately hear the car idle with the 111lsa. I have LS1 edit so tuning should not be a problem. Also there has been alot of people dyno 400 horse at the rear wheels. The only thing that I might be scared of is shifting at 6800rpm with the stock bottom end but you said your car won't see alot of track time so get the tr230. If you dont like it you could always get another cam.

i had a 230 and i'd go with the C2. the 230 will be best for the track, with gears and a good tune. i'd go with the C2 for better street manners and driveabity. the 230 sure does lope hard though.

The C2 has been proven at the track. Ask Raughammer about it. He'll be able to tell you about the X1, too (as could many others on this board, too). Plenty of happy people with either cam on the track, but unless you want to spin it up tight, go C2. Generally higher duration cams make more power up high and like to be there, whereas a smaller duration will be more street friendly.

Why not consider the X1? The lift is pretty comparable to the C2 (.591/.571 versus .581/.581) if I remember correctly...

I have the X1 and love it. Idle quality will be better than the TR230 since the X1 is on a 112 lsa versus a 111 for the TR230.

My dyno numbers are in sig, 389.9 peak hp with cam/headers/borla/lid only. A couple more bolt ons should put me over 400.
