Look at the cam review thread on "the other site" Most people get 375-385 with FULL bolt ons. I assume you have an M6 so you could get there. 400 is almost out of reach for that cam. Its what i got. Its a great daily driver cam with or without tunning. It also works well without headers unlike some larger cams. Its a good proven cam. If your wanting max hp i would go with something bigger. But with some stage 2 heads you could pull 415-420hp. Its alot like a tr220 114lsa.

I think that John B. (Conversions and Hybrids) made over 400 with his.

see my website for specifics, or sig for summary.
if you have similar mods to me, you should make more than me because you have the newer 241 head castings (i have 853's). also, i have 12 bolt with 4.10's which sap some more power.

400 rwhp is most certainly NOT out of reach with this cam. In fact, it's been done several times over. I have seen 400 rwhp w/ stock heads, and 430 rwhp with MTI Stg 2 heads and this cam on a good tune.

Specs: 221/221 .558/.558 114

Great street manners on this cam. Little or no tuning needed for an M6 car. Some minor tuning and/or TB adjustments needed for A4 car depending on how picky you are.

Very easy on the vavletrain...

I just want to point out i said almost out of reach in my post. Its not common nor is it an average to get 400 out of a B1. But im sure its been done. I was just pointing out to him i wouldnt count on it.Many people are disappointed with their dyno #. I think its a great cam and thats why i bought it.

Mine put down 354 RWHP. LS1 intake, 4.56 gears, heavy driveshaft, crappy exhaust, no wideband tuning (we dyno'd for a baseline, and then pulled the motor). Depending on your mods (LS6, AL driveshaft, cutout?), I could see doing 370-380. IMHO 400's out of the range for cam-only with the B1. With heads, yes.

Of course, that old motor of mine (with LS6 intake) has powered Coach's car to a 6.99 in the 1/8 and a 11.13 in the 1/4.

John made 391, Nick(Trahnzam) made 403, Vince made 391(T1), Smoke ur 5.0 made 385 untuned......I don't think it's that out of range. Not the "norm" but definately doable with a fresh bottom end, LT's, and good tuning. Every one of these cars also ran Macs FWIW (except for maybe John B?)

Was that 354hp with LT's or manifolds?

Grot Longtubes, but the crappiest Y-pipe known to man (built from 17 pieces of pipe, crimped, crunched, spliced, and butt-ended - it's a classic and has been replaced by a badass Y-pipe from Futral ). That went through a SLP 2OTL exhaust (no cutout).

My car three years ago put down 375/362 with the B1 cam, stock heads, and LS1 intake. This was through the stock rear with 4:10s.

I really like the B1 for the street it's got great power down low and is very streetable. I had a great dyno tune at Detroit Speedworks which is a Mustang dyno and they dyno about 40 to 50 rwhp less than the Dynojet dyno's most people get their dyno #'s from and mine made 388 rwhp on the Mustang dyno with the stage 2 heads.

Hell ya you can get 400rwhp with those specs. Good bolt ons and tune should do it.
I got a 216/220, .525/.532 114lsa (Comp Cam) in my T/A and I am at 394rwhp with bolt ons and cutout. Picked up 26rwhp from ASP, cutout and some fine tuning. Was 368rwhp before that.

nice to see some people recognizing the overall ablility of the little b1 cam. awesome cam and sometimes i wished i went to it instead of the big cam. makes great tq great power under the curve and stock like drivablity. 400 rwhp will be tough and require all the boltons we have available (esp that electric water pump) but with a good tune it is possible.
