I would be wary of rods and cranks that are not name brand. Many of the cheap parts are made in China and are junk when compared to the US brands. The Chinese parts are heavier much of the time and still are not as strong. I would call the seller and ask them who actually produces the rods in the sale. Also if you do not recognize the producer then ask where they are made.

later,
Bart

Those are the Eagle rods just not labeled by Eagle, but from the company that makes them for Eagle probably.

I believe the eagle's are forged overseas (maybe the same place as these) then finished up here. So, if we speculate, and assume the castings are the same, that leaves all the finish machining, and bronze bushing installation to the final importer/machinist/reseller. I'd want to follow up on that party or parties to determine the level of their quality, and quality control/variance. Even if you havent seen eagle's shop (i haven't) you don't hear too much bad about them... I haven't heard anything about the company selling those rods... I don't think I'd gamble my engine's survival on a $100 savings on rods. Not to say they're not good.. just not well known... On the positive, they seem to spec them pretty precisely, and have 100% feedback. Don't know if thhat's enough consolation for me

This place is in the town I live in. They are a major eagle distributor, and by the looks of it, these are a set of eagle h-beam rods. I would contact them and make sure that they are "out of box" new. I'm not sure if rods require some sort of machining, and whether or not these have had any done, but they would not be my first choice for machine work. This is purley by my speculation from the stories I have heard and seen first hand. I won't say much cause a member of this board works there, and I've already been through this once with him/them.

I emailed the seller and asked him who made these rods and will it work with a 370 LS1 block and this is his reply:

Yes our rods can be used with this combo... Lunati and JE pistons are the ones
we use... They will handle up to 750 HP... they are forged in a German forge and
machined on a CNC that is swiss..this is the same as Manley ... but are finished
honed and sized by AMS RACING in the USA..
These are made for stock rod bearings.. just like the 350 Chevy bearings..
Please email me if you need a piston price.. Thanks Raymond

What do you think guys, he did not say if these were eagles or not. any comments.

i'd go with it, that company puts out a lot of racing engines I believe. I dug around at one point checking them out. I would trust em, and they have to be better than the stock rods.

To go along with what FDLS6 said...

We have found the Eagle and the Proline rods to be very good. However we have had problems with the Cat and Scat Rods and other products, Out of round flexplates for one...
