Default Another PTV Clearence Question

I know the best way to know for sure if the valves will clear is to bolt the heads up and clay it. But Im looking at a set of Patriot ported 243's with a 59cc chamber and wanted a little feed back before I potentially waste time and money. Im currently running a TFS cam 228/230 .585/.585 and want to use these heads. I dont think Id run into a problem with the pistons hitting the valves but wanted to check with you guys and see that you think. Thanks in advance.

Only true answer would be to measure.

Also what is the LSA/ICL of your cam? and what size valves on your heads.

I have used a 232/238 600/600 109 LSA w/ 59CC chambers 2.02/1.60 valves. Yet even though the guy told me that I would be ok I still measure and had no issues and did not need to cut relieves into my piston but I was only sure after measuring.

PedZ its on a 112 not sure what the ICL have to find the card. The valve sizes in the heads are 2.02/1.57.

It should fit, but you should measure to be sure and at peace. Some valves have thick bases like Ferrea and they eat a lot of space.

sounds alot more inline with what i have seen...

OP with stock mls gaskets and stock unmilled 241 heads i had .086 with a 230/230 111+2 cam...

with 57.5 cc heads with a .040 gasket i had -0.020 clearance...

even if you add .025 for 57.5cc to get to 59cc which is way more than it really is and add the .014 for stock gasket...you are at .019" clearance

i would definitely check...

also someone i know just bought a set of TEA head 220 as cast and had them milled by tea to 59CC...well when they were CCed by us they measured 57.5CC...dont trust anyone verify yourself on everything

i also bought some used heads and the kid selling them swore the 215 TFS's were stock and unmilled 64cc....when i got them and cced them they were 60cc...good thing i was taking more off
