Default Cracked Head, what to do?

This started last summer when I overheated the car. You can read a little about it here https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...lve-seals.html

I replaced the valve seals since the compression check was good and I found fresh oil on the spark plug for cylinder #1. Didn't help so I had no choice but to tear off the head.
You can see from the pictures there is a nice crack in the head. Sucks that the head is cracked but on the other hand it is good to know what the problem is.

What do you think? Can this be fixed or is it time for a new head? The sad thing is I want to sell the car so I'm just fixing it to sell it. I have all the original stuff but I'm not sure if I want to put it back to stock and then sell off the separate parts.

It can be welded, then it will need to be milled to straighten it back out if it distorts.Might be a bit hard to find someone to weld aluminum local, but it can be fixed.

A crack that deep, i wouldnt mess with it. Can it be done by a skilled alum welder yes, but the time to do that and recut and stuff, better off imo to start with a new set.

Yea, you need to contact TSP on this if you are the original buyer of these heads. There is no repair for over ported heads.

It can be repaired, but I suggest finding a person that can tig very well. I wouldn't tig in the port, I'd do it around the rocker mount.

Don't waste your time fixing that head. Replace it.

Contact TSP. This has happened numerous times in the past with their older heads. It's most likely NOT related to the overheating condition.

x2 this has been a documented issue. Replace them and be glad you weren't one of the unfortunite ones that had more damage.
