Default What next?

Not sure which forum I should put this thread but I'm trying to figure-out what I should do next. I'm happy with my car (street car) as is but I'm looking for another project just cause I enjoy working on my car so much.

I've been thinking about a FAST intake but I've seen threads that make it seem like it's not worth the money. I've been watching ProCharger vids and I'm really tempted but wondering how hard it will be to tune. Turbos would be too challenging for me I think. I've never been interested in getting on the bottle. Another thought is an aftermarket clutch but my stocker is holding up great (15k original miles on car). I have an UD pulley I haven't installed yet but that's just a couple hours project.

So the bottom line is that I'm looking for some input on what you guys might do next if you had my car (mods in sig). In my heart I'm really lusting after a supercharger but I'm not sure if it would work with the heads and cam I have.

Can anyone get me moving in the right direction? Thanks.

Procharger.

The camshaft wont be the best, but wont be that bad though.

EDIT: If my car wasnt 11:1, it would have one already.

My compression is around 10.6-10.7. I guess I would be better off with stock heads if I was going the ProCharger route? Thanks.

change the cc's in the 243's you have and drop your compression if you can without pullin the engine to put in dishtop pistons. or get some 6.0 heads to drop the compression. remember less compression more boost you can run safely, also with less compression you don't need to run race gas to keep your engine safe. good luck with your decision

Thanks for the info. I was hoping I could just add a supercharger to my current setup. You just weeded me out of the supercharger club .

FAST intake maybe? Maybe I'll just put a screamin' chicken on my hood and add some stickers (kiddin').

Thanks again King Nothing.

no problem bud. a FAST will be good. i'd say if your going to go S/C at somepoint buy a new forged shortblock made at 8.5-9.5 to 1 compression so you can run a good amount of boost on pump gas

but he'd be in the same boat with needing lower compression wouldn't he?

Maybe I can SC the TBSS instead? It's a stock LS2 except for an induction mod, but the whole point of my daily driver is to have something fun (which it is) but reliable. I never should have watched those ProCharger vids in that long *** thread haha. It's the jet engine sounds that got to me, too cool.

Just to update if interested, I'm looking at a MagnaCharger setup for my TBSS. This looks very doable. It even comes with a SuperChips tune. I should just be able to bolt this on and be good since my truck is stock.

magnachargers for some reason like close to stock compression, so that you'd be good with just don't turn the boost up lol

Predator did you get tuned by Slowhawk? He's in Bridgewater MA and has done a lot of Procharger installs, I'm sure the tune would be no problem. I would call him and ask him about your setup:

Yeah, I think 7.5lbs of boost is about right. The weak link on these trucks is the tranny. It's a DD so no plans of hammering the crap out of it, just some extra go if I need it. This should put the 2 1/2 ton beast in the 12s. I guess my TA is done. Thanks dude.

I pretty much decided to put a blower on the TBSS instead of the TA, but I might be giving Slowhawk a call to tweak out the tuning, so thanks for the link.

TVS blower. Seems like people are selling off their Maggies and switching to these. TVS1900.

If you do an e85 change over your ability to run boost and keep your compression ratio will be very possible. I had a friend running 243 heads 10.5:1 on an LS1 w/ a T76 @ 10lbs boost.

orangeapeel, that's what I'm looking at, 1900 TVS Trailblazer SS 6.0L Intercooled:

Thanks 02*C5. Where there's a will there's a way. I just haven't got the will. Appreciate the heads up though.

Yeah, I hear people are really pleased with the results and reliability on those TVS units.

Glad to hear, thanks. Did you check-out the install .pdf? I bet even I can handle that, looks like fun too.
