That would be a good place to start. It would suck to take it to get tuned and something mechanical be wrong with it. Is there anyway you can get a code scanner or go by the local Auto Zoo and have them pull the codes for you? That might help you get pointed in the right direction to fixing the problem.

Aaron, give us a call if we can help you out. I would be checking plugs/coils/injectors/connections/02s/plug wires... I know everyone is screaming tune in this thread, but your combo should run with a STOCK PCM... Mike is an EXTREMELY experienced tuner and has proven his mail order tunes are 90% spot on.

I definately have never even thought it might be the tune. I have checked my coil packs, wires, and plugs. I really think its either an injector or and O2 sensor. Im gonna try to track it down tonight hopefully.

ya ill def check that, thats a good idea i never would have though about that...
anyways I checked 02 sensors tonight a 2 were loose so i tightened up and drove it with no real change.. pulled the spark plugs that had maybe 10 minutes of idle time on them and less than a mile of driving time and they were solid black. replaced plugs with no real change. then I got the wild idea that i might have got the timing chain off a tooth so I pulled it off and it was on correctly. So here i am just now finished putting her all back together at 2am and im stumped again!

I cannot track this problem down. Basic run down of what is going on is the car misses out and runs like **** under normal acceleration but opens up pretty good at WOT. I've heard everything from plugs, O2's, injectors, grounds... I dunno what to do. I've changed plugs and coil packs several times and have ruled them out.. Thought it might just need a tune, Vengeance hooked me up with a computer tune and I havn't been able to tell a diff. so I've ruled that out as the primary prob.
Mods are:
PRC Stage 3 heads
Vengeance VRX4 Cam
FAST 92 intake
Ported LS2 TB
Racetronix fuel system
LG Street headers
boltons......
The shop I work for has a scanner that I can pull some good info out of but they always have it loaned out when I go to use it so no telling when Ill be able to get it.

I had a similar problem but it didn't show missfire on the scan gauge (Aero Force Interceptor scan gauge). It misses at low RPM but goes straight at higher rpms.
Got it checked at a friend's shop and he found one plug wire touching the headers and got heat damage. He replaced the damaged plug wire, used a zip tie and it was all gone.

If it was running rich and fouled the plugs out you could have an exhaust leak that is making the O2's think it's running lean. The O2's could have not been working correctly. The computer may need time to relearn everything. Make sure your oil isn't thinned out from dumping to much fuel.

Ok problem solved and as stupid as this sounds it really did clear up my car. I just switch the up stream O2's from left to right... ya i know its rediculous... O well car runs good now, bout ready to call Vengeance to get her dialed in. Thanks for all the help!
