Default Car runs like crap after heads and cam

I cannot track this problem down. Basic run down of what is going on is the car misses out and runs like **** under normal acceleration but opens up pretty good at WOT. I've heard everything from plugs, O2's, injectors, grounds... I dunno what to do. I've changed plugs and coil packs several times and have ruled them out.. Thought it might just need a tune, Vengeance hooked me up with a computer tune and I havn't been able to tell a diff. so I've ruled that out as the primary prob.

Mods are:
PRC Stage 3 heads
Vengeance VRX4 Cam
FAST 92 intake
Ported LS2 TB
Racetronix fuel system
LG Street headers
boltons......

The shop I work for has a scanner that I can pull some good info out of but they always have it loaned out when I go to use it so no telling when Ill be able to get it.

Is it throwing any codes? It could be anything from a ground problem, vacuum leak, to the cam being off a tooth.

Vengeance sent me a computer tune to see if that was the problem, it wasn't...

the car idle's fine but when you drive it at low rpm it feels like its loading up and the SES light will flash until I run it up to about 4k then it clears out.

I used a SLP double roller, set the crank sprocket at 0 with the dowl and then the cam gear lined up at 0 with the sprocket

I don't know how the SLP double roller is. I have seen some people align the dot on the cam gear and the "O" on the crank gear. Doing that actually offsets the timing by 4 degrees. A friend of mine did this on his LT1 and broke every exhaust valve in the engine.

It was suppose to be dot to square instead of the circle.

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a "blinking" SES light mean MISFIRE?

Did you get a mail order tune? A lot of the time those aren't accurate enough and the car will still run shitty.

ya blinking ses light it a dead miss.

and im sure the timing is on because i had to take it back off because i had it on wrong the first time.

when i talked to ron he said this tune would just be getting me in the ballpark, im taking the car to them for a final tune but trying to work out all the bugs first.

I would spend the money and get a good tune. Mine ran like **** after my first tune in the mid-throatle but after one more they changed a few things and it runs like a dream now! They replaced the plugs, wires, o2's nothing really helped until they adjusted the tune. Then perfect!

I would pull your plugs out and see what they look like. Maybe a spark plug is cracked, injector not firing there could be several things. Even if the tune is off after it goes into closed loop it should try to run right.

Did you get bigger injectors? Might be dumping too much fuel in the cylinders . need it tuned like what everyones saying.

In the ball park is not a dead on tune. You can run into may issues with a mail order tune, I would seriously drive the car sparingly if none at all until you get your final tune done. If it is your daily driver I really do not know what to tell you.

i agree on the tune. with the work you did i would say if you have stock injectors, not enough fuel and if bigger injectors, too much fuel. i just put in an ms4 and car wouldnt run if i wanted it to until tuned. trailer it to a tuner!

Again for a dyno tune. Even cars with the same setup need a specific tune. It is amazing the differance and experianced tuner will make with a car.

A flashing SES means the engine problem is bad enough to cause catalytic converter damage. If you go over 1.5 times the FTP(Federal Tailpipe standard for tailpipe emissions) your SES will come "ON". If it gets bad enough to damage the cats(bad cat food) the lite will flash. Something as simple as a spark plug boot not seated on the plug(shorting to the block) will cause the SES to flash.
