Do I Need to Worry About Piston-to-Valve Clearance?
#22
Just to say it again, those valve marks are NOT my setup. I bought the motor has a shortblock, with those marks there already.
I just got back from chevy and picked up two MLS gaskets.
Now.. last night I searched lindy tools.. all I found were piston cutting tools for use with the heads installed? My heads are off, I just need something to cut into the piston. If ANYONE can give me a direct link to somewhere I can rent/buy a flycutting tool, it would be greaaaatly appreciated.
Also, any suggestions as to how far in I should cut the pistons? How much on exhaust & intake?
Once again thanks everyone, you've all been quite helpful.

use the lindy tool and a junk head. it's really easy, just a little nerve racking. install your cam and use clay with checker springs and a solid lifter to get your PTV clearance. then cut the depth you need
