Default Can I use Comp 918's in machined spring pockets?

I have heads machined for the larger dual springs (987, 977, etc). Can I run the smaller dia. 918 springs in this case? Wondering if the spring will 'walk' around on the seat?

Yes you can still use the 918's. You need to run the stock spring seat, like you would from the factory anyway, and that's it. The spring seat locates it from the inside of the spring. Doesn't matter how much room there is on the outside of the spring.

Sorry if this is an idiot question, but what is the stock spring seat?
