spun cam bearing sound like bad lifter?
Apparently my passenger valve cover gasket blew the other night causing a drop in oil pressure. I was not aware of it for a few 5k-6k pulls with probably only 25-35 psi of oil pressure. The sound I am getting out of the motor now is very similar to a lifter that will not bleed up. It almost certainly is coming from the top end. I have checked all the rockers/springs/pushrods and everything looks good. It is louder on the passenger side so I pulled the head and replaced all the lifters. The ticking sound is still there. My mechanic thinks it might be a bad cam bearing. Anyone have experience with what a spun cam bearing sounds like?

Valve cover gasket will not drop oil pressure (but I am wondering how it "blew")...
If cam bearing walks then it causes an internal oil leak (this is where you may be losing oil pressure).

Ya, the hose coming off my passenger valve cover was torn probably causing the PCV system to not work properly. When I started to first hear the ticking, my oil pressure would not get above 25 psi. I pulled both valve covers then reinstalled and oil leak and oil pressure problem was gone. I get 40-50 psi at idle now. It sounds almost identical to when I had a bad lifter after a head swap a year ago. But this time it almost sounds louder on the passenger side.
