With those valve events, that cam is actually going to make very good midrange power! (I know the full specs.) And it will drive better than almost every cam with the same amount of overlap. But yeah, it will still scream in the upper rpm's.. it's actually designed for power to tabletop at 5500-6500 with a good bump below it. The heads aren't done last I knew, but the guy doing them sounds like he has a clue, so they should be solid.

Anyone who has only seen cam specs here and magazines would definitely say "WTF" at this cam for a DD with a 3600 stall, but it's going to work, and I cannot wait to see the dyno graph

Remember that 3rd gen I told you about on the phone? He was running that same cam. Car was never dyno tuned, and was always around 10.5 AFR and was running 12.2s at 112 in 2000+ DA. With a good tune, that car will more the hell out.

It didn't financially make sense for you to get a cam prior to getting your stall the first time around. =] Glad to see you're stepping up quite a bit though. Subbed to get some results out of this!

Lol. Believe me, I regret it. I guess we all make mistakes along the way....

Not quite

But you might be able to say it's a tweaked variant. Geoff went a slightly different direction.

I do not see the point of anything larger than a 2.0 on a stock bottom end.

1) Opening the throat to 90% already puts the throat cross sectional area at around 2.47 inches. That is already almost too big for a stock bottom end as the throat SHOULD be your minimum csa.

2) If they are ls6 heads off a z06, you have sodium filled or hollow stems. The valves are as light as you can get, why move up to a heavy stainless steel valve?

3) If you DO put a 2.02 or 2.04 or 2.05 valve into the port, if you DO NOT open the throat up to match it, you are killing HP. People should ask supplies who offer the bigger valve if they open the throat to match the valve, then MEASURE IT when the do get them.

4) Even if you do open the throat to match a bigger valve, the coefficient of discharge needs to remain the same or increase with bigger valves, or else it isn't worth it either.
i like the idea of staying with the stock size valves..with the correct sizing of the throat and a good VJ,you'll keep the velocity up..and will fill the cylinder better than another head with bigger vlaves/flow #s..something i learned the hard way a few yrs ago
