Who knows what the piston to head (quench) area is on a stock LS1?
I've read that .050 or less will run more efficiently. When I perform my headswap I'd like to be around 11:1 CR, but I don't know where that puts my quench at?
Also what is the thickness of the stock head gasket and the thinner Felpro?

That would be stock est. i run .042" gasket with .007" deck for a .035" quench.

Are you running a Felpro gasket?
What is your compression ratio?
Any detonation issues?
What are the specs on your cam?

absolutely no detonation issues with 30 to 32 degrees timing.
My cam is a MMS 220 grind with .585" 276*adv. 220*@.050" on a 112*LSA with ICL in at 110* yes its a single pattern cam. This cam spins clean to 7k, my car weighs almost 3600 street weight with me.

My car is an 02 SS with the 345hp SLP package plus SLP LT headers. I'm looking at Stage II heads, Cam, underdrive pulleys, possibly rockers and also 3.73:1 gears.
Any advice while it's all still on paper?
Also, I've got the OE Bilstein suspension with SLP STB, Don Goetz SFCs, Chrome ZR1s wrapped with BFG KDWs and a s speed tranny.

Best times on DR's was 12.4's spinning every where, my 26x8" hoosier QTP's(dot) was 11.8's with a fragile launch(stock rear with gears) You can expect the same results IMO so dont count on those KDW's for too much.

THATS COOL, but street traction is minimal too. Drag racing is my favorite but i may overcam my car this year to soften its leave and still haul ***.
