Question LS1 windage tray vs. truck 4.8L windage tray

I have a question regarding the windage tray in a truck 4.8L motor vs. a LS1. I'm installing a 03 4.8L in my 91 Trans Am, bought an LS1 oil pan and pickup tube from GM Parts Direct but the mounting bracket hits the windage tray. It's basically angled a little too much. Would it be OK if I clearanced the windage tray a little to make it work? Or is the LS1 windage tray completely different and not a good idea to run the truck tray with an LS1 oil pan? Just want to make sure I won't have any oiling issues once this motor gets started. Thanks!

If your using an LS1 pan and tube, I would stick with the LS1 windage tray. Just my $.02.

The LS! windage tray does not go all the way to the front of the engine like the 4.8 piece does. I don't think the LS1 pan will clear up front with the truck tray. It would be best to go with the tray that the pan was design to work with.

Well I just modified the truck windage tray a little so the pickup would bolt up. I did have a little clearance issue with the LS1 Pickup hitting the pan where the sump goes into the lower section of the pan. Other than that everything looked fine, no contact anywhere with the crank or anything. I just bolted the pan up and went with it. Seems to be ok, we'll see though. Thanks for the help
