Default Bad oil leak from behind the crank pulley.

New shortblock... fired it up and everything was fine, after about 2 min. it started to drip pretty good from behind the crank pulley.

I dont think I replaced the front seal, also I went from a stock pulley to a 10% underdrive.

Is it just the seal, or could I have some other problem?

I would think it is the seal from what you are describing.

I experienced something similar with the LS6 in my '03 Z06, when the crank bolt backed out and had oil spraying/leaking out of the crank snout. A new seal, new crank bolt, and make sure it is all installed and torqued down to spec and it was fixed.

Never figured out why the crankbolt backed out as I never touched the engine, nor did anything to the car other than a clutch (later) and a Borla Stinger cat-back.

Well I figured it out... After removing my turbo, radiator, everything. Pulled the front cover, 10 cents of gasket glue would have solved the problem.

The shortblock I bought had a crank pinning kit... never put gasket glue around it, thats clearly where the leak was coming from.
