It's pretty easy to replace a valve. If the heads were off that was retarded to not fix it right there. Plus, how do you know it was bent? You can't go off that old saying "Good enough for government work" when it involves precision moving parts
You seem to be hiding something. Were not sure, but its pretty easy to find out when you wait a month and start asking about being really down on power. But not for someone you know. Ya, just someone you heard about that works with someone you know. This thread will be remembered for years to come. I promise you. Its already been linked on facebook and a few other forums. Your lack of participation is just going to make it worse.
Get some of your LS1 co-workers in here. I want to see what they really know.

And Orangepeel remember they have tons of ls1 experience.
I can't believe I did my whole swap alone with no problems. It was my first cam swap or engine swap in any LS1. Better yet any car. And I did better then these fools.
Are you seriously still trying to give the OP your thoughts on what went wrong

This is incidental in the light of the various other mistakes... if the 3 lobes would have survived then something else would have failed or will fail.
I don't think Orangeapeel is tearing him apart... posting on here means you knowingly place yourself at the mercy/graciousness of whoever responds... and hopefully there are lessons being learnt.
Yes, the OP is taking the "critique" quite well, he still has a friendly can-do tone... I wonder...
Most certainly... we're still wondering what he measured the required pushrod length to be... or if he checked/measured/evaluated anything else.

No doubt TSP has a lawyer in their desk drawer ready to pounce and kick our boy in the shin repeatedly, but fortunately the mods changed the title before their hard-earned reputation took a hit.
The OP is getting the Intarwebz version of "bad doggie look what you did" rub-the-face-in-the-poo and being a good sport about it.
The avalanche of epic will occur later when the inevitable "whyz my car not run right PLEASE HELP ASAP!!1!!11!" post appears...

Here's how it all started, me and many coworkers at work couldn't grasp why pushrod length HAD to be checked, I mean, every LS1 is made I would imagine on an assembly line and tolerances and measurements of every motor should be damn close be the same. Unless you shave metal off the heads/block or install a different thickness headgasket than stock, shouldn't all motors be the exact same? So we went by the recomended pushrod length. Right off the bat after finishing the car after the cam install the valvetrain was VERY loud, we all at work thought that it was increased valvetrain noise from the rapid ramp rate and the higher valve lift.
We ignored the noise.
About a week or two later the engine made a huge bang while just cruising and started knocking really loud. It was limped 20 miles home and towed back to the dealer. We pulled the motor and the heads and found a shattered lifter as seen on page one and 3 cam lobes fucked themselves, the lobe with the shattered lifter having a Hugeee unrepairable gouge in it.
Then we changed the oil, replaced the cam with a REAL Aftermarket cam, installed ls7 lifters, checked and measured pushrod length, put the car back together and everything is smooth as butter! No more abnormally loud valve train noise and the car pulls hard now! Pulls harder than the 2011 gt 5.0 I rode in back to back the same day.
