There was a LOT wrong with the entire way the install was handled.

Im gonna have to side with both people on this thing. Obviously something was not measured right. But about everyone saying oh why should you take it to Nissan...Just because a Tech works at Nissan does not mean that is the only vehicle he has ever worked on in his life.....Im a Tech at Lexus and I have extensive experience with GM vehicles and actually do Head/Cam/Motor swaps weekly so where you work has absolutely nothing to do with ******* **** up. and the ASE part is a joke..a 15 year old kid that study's enough can pass some of the test's and have absolutely no real world experience so who gives a ****. They are just a cert that gets you more money and makes the dumb people think you are more experienced.

LOL, take it easy. We already figured out why this was a fail to begin with. Its just time to have some fun in the internal section. The OP works at Nissan, so I am sure they already had the tools to do the job. Apparently the proverbial "tools" screwed this one up.

LMAO!!!

OP.. FAIL!

Theres no standing up for those "mechanics". They had no idea what the **** they were doing. IDC if they own f-bodies or not.. This was WAY over their head, and they tried taking the cheap way out.

A another important factor is that it was actually a COPIED cam, we took a real Texas speed cam and a stock cam to a machinist, and the stock cam got a regrind, which is the cam that got destroyed and CANT be used any more. Does it matter that it was a regrind???Also, it's a coworkers car at the Nissan dealership I work at, and 3 coworkers have LS1 cars with TONS of experience. I still don't understand how this happened, even if pushrod length was wrong, how could that destroy the cam?? Don't make sense....

Seriously, you wouldn't download a car but you'd download a cam.
