Default Has anyone had any intake/head alignment issues

I plan on milling the heads a .030 I was wondering if anyone has had fitment issues with the intake bolts lining up. Since the in theory the bolt holes will be closer to the center on the block.

Plus should there be any thing done to the intake runners after the milling of the head for better flow?

You could send it out for porting as well. But I had a set of heads shaved and put a stock LS6 intake on it and never noticed a problem. Probably because the intake doesnt actually touch the head because of those individual gaskets on all 8 intake ports.

I had my heads shaved .0563 and the injector holes on the intake sat too high so I had .060 cut off the intake as well and it fit perfectly after that.

fwiw when I discussed this with my machinist he said anything over .040 they mill the intake too. Under that it all depends but not all intakes need it.

Even with .056 off, my bolt holes still lined up..because of the fact they are vertical to the block and not perpendicular to the head they are more forgiving with head milling. I could have run it but a little of the metal around the injector relief was showing into the injector bung in the intake so I had it cut. You should be fine at .030 off.
