why does my 00Z have 241 heads not 835

so does that mean i also have the cam for a 01 to 02? sorry im kinda changing my own thread.. and i guess the difference between the head is about 5 hp from what im told

im getting longtubes in about a month just saving up some money so i can change my cam shaft too!!

This is incorrect, 99-2000 are the years 853's were used, and somewhere mid year in 2000 the 241's also started to appear, and were used for the remainder of the F-Body production run.
not from the factory it didn't, check the service history of the car as well as the owner history...someone swapped the heads (possibly even the entire engine as a warranty repair or who knows what) at some point before you bought that car
barely even marginally better...the ports and chambers are really the same design other than very very minor differences due to the change from a sand casting (853) to a die casting (241)...the 241's LOOK nicer from the outside (smoother surface finish due to the die casting process), and the 241's have some changes to internal gusseting around fastener bosses, but it's really nothing major
my 2000 is a late 2000 with 241 heads, but it came with the correct cam for a car with EGR (the 2001/2002 cam is intended for use without EGR)...I doubt there are any 2000's with 241 heads and the 2001+ cam as the EGR with that cam would really not run right at all.
